Obituary: Margaret Ruth Johnson, 73, Bardstown
MARGARET RUTH JOHNSON
Margaret Ruth Johnson, 73, of Bardstown, died Monday, May 8, 2017, at her residence. She was born on Sept. 28, 1943, in Warwick, R.I., to the late James and Ruth Brownell Turner. She was a former office manager for K-Mart Corporation. She received much joy from gardening, yard sales and being with her family and was of the Baptist faith.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Gerald Francis “Jimmy” Johnson; two sisters; and one brother.
She is survived by two daughters, Dori Robertson of Bardstown and Tami (Ken) Cross of Cambridge, N.Y.; one son Kenny (Tiffany) Johnson of Mount Washington; two sisters, Thear Atwood of Florida and Donna Wade of California; three brothers, Arthur Warren of Bardstown, Bobby Warren of Rhode Island and Richard Turner of Washington; five grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
The funeral is 11 a.m. Saturday, May 13, 2017, at Houghlin-Greenwell Funeral Home with Bro. John Harvey officiating. Burial is in the St. Catherine Cemetery in New Haven.
Visitation is 3-8 p.m. Friday, May 12, 2017, and 8:30-11 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home.
The Houghlin-Greenwell Funeral Home, 1475 New Shepherdsville Road, is in charge of arrangements.
