Obituary: Alice Mae Chesser, 86, Bloomfield
Alice Mae Chesser, 86, of Bloomfield, returned to her Heavenly Father Tuesday, May 9, 2017, at Bardstown Health and Rehab after a long illness. She was born on Nov. 21, 1930, in Nelson County. She was a long time member of the Bloomfield Baptist Church where she served in vacation bible school, van ministry and the telephone prayer chain once she became homebound. She was retired from Nelson County Schools where she worked at Eli Brown Elementary in the school cafeteria. She was blessed to be surrounded and supported by many loving friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 32 years, Herman Chesser; her parents, Delbert and Viola Sparrow Coulter; two brothers, J.B. Coulter and R.C. Coulter; and one niece, Sharon Parkerson.
She is survived by her sister-in-law, Lavon Coulter of Bardstown; one nephew, Gary (Sandy) Coulter of Bardstown; two great-nephews, Lance Coulter and Wesley Parkerson, both of Bardstown; and two special cousins, Irene Hupp of Chaplin and Charles Nally of Louisville.
The funeral is 3 p.m. Friday, May 12, 2017, at the Bloomfield Baptist Church with Bro. Leland Parks officiating. Burial is in the Maple Grove Cemetery.
Visitation is 10 a.m.-3 p.m. Friday, May 12, 2017, at the church.
The family requests expressions of sympathy take the form of contributions to the Bloomfield Baptist Church Building Fund.
The Houghlin Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
