Obituary: Carl Vernon Rogers, 72, formerly of Marion County

Carl Vernon Rogers, 72, of Hustonville, formerly of Marion County, died Saturday, May 13, 2017, at UK Medical Center in Lexington. He was born Dec. 21, 1944, in Marion County and was a lifelong farmer.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Harvey Green and Sally Ann Moore Rogers; three sisters, Abigail Rogers and infants Eva Lee Rogers and Susan Gertrude Rogers; six brothers, Charles Edward Rogers, William Ralph Rogers, Arsanal Rogers Junior, Raymond Bert Rogers, George Richard Rogers and Gene Autry Rogers.

Survivors include his wife, Martha Catherine “Tiney” Brown Rogers of Loretto; two stepchildren, Tammy Brown of Greensburg and William Whitehouse (Julie) of Loretto; six stepgrandchildren; four stepgreat-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews; and a host of other relatives and friends.

The funeral is 1 p.m. Thursday, May 18, 2017, at Mattingly Funeral Home, 195 Holy Cross Road, Loretto with Bro. Gary Hager officiating. Burial is in the Benningfield Cemetery.

Visitation is 11 a.m. – 1p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.

Memorials donations may go toward funeral expenses and may be made at the funeral home.

The Mattingly Funeral Home in Loretto is in charge of arrangements.
