Obituary: Margaret Delores Lawson Gordon, 86, Raywick
Margaret Delores Lawson Gordon, 86, of Raywick, died Saturday, May 13, 2017, at University Hospital in Louisville. She was born July 25, 1930 in Penick. She was a homemaker and a retired employee of the Marion County School System. She loved making quilts and Raggedy Ann and Andy dolls for her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was a member of Highview Methodist Church in Raywick.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 41 years, Lytle Cleo “L.C.” Gordon, Jr. (1986); and her parents, Elbert and Zelma Muncie Lawson; one sister, Zora Benningfield; one great-grandson, Stephen Chase Gordon; and one great-granddaughter, Carlea Faye Montgomery.
Survivors include two daughters, Darlene Luckett (Newt) and Betty Sullivan (Randy), both of Marion County; four sons, Elbert “Bud” Gordon (Carol), Ronnie Gordon (Janice), Tommy Gordon, Jimmy Gordon (Donna), all of Marion County; one sister, Linda Young of Marion County; 15 grandchildren, 28 great-grandchildren and one great-great granddaughter.
The funeral is 11 a.m. Friday, May 19, 2017, at the Mattingly Funeral Home, 195 Holy Cross Road, Loretto with burial is the Highview Methodist Cemetery with Bro. Tom Rector officiating and Bro. DeWayne Howell and Bro. Don Watson assisting.
Visitation is 4-9 p.m. Thursday, May 18, 2017, at the funeral home.

Pallbearers are grandsons, Jim Luckett, Lee Gordon, Mark Luckett, Barry Gordon, Chris Gordon, Joe Pat Gordon and Cody Gordon. Honorary pallbearers are granddaughters, Greta Caldwell, Amy Brown, Kelly Cecil, Lori Barker, Ann Nesmith, Leslie Sauter, Jamie Montgomery and Erin Thompson.
The Mattingly Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
