Barbara Ann Downs, 81, of New Haven, died Thursday, May 18, 2017, at Hosparus Inpatient Care Center. She was born Dec. 17, 1935, in Bardstown. She was a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Jimmy and Evelyn Wilmouth.
Survivors include her husband of 61 years, Joseph Edmund “Burlap” Downs Sr. of New Haven; three daughters, Debbie (Billy) Durbin of Culvertown, Mary (James) Lashley of New Haven and Libby Downs of Hopkinsville; three sons, Joe (Kelly) Downs of Chaplin, Tony Downs (Sharon Greenwell) and Bobby (Sonya) Downs, both of Bardstown; two sisters, Sylvia Butts of Mount Washington and Betty Jo (Larry) Davis of Bowling Green; one brother, James Neil (Martha) Wilmouth of Bardstown; 12 grandchildren, Melinda Durbin, Sam Durbin, Priscilla Flanders, Patrice Atchley, Brittany Mouser, Mallory Blair, Joseph Downs, Erica Pierce, Lauren Downs, Ryan Downs, Catrina Lashley-Curle, and Jimmy Lashley; 12 great-grandchildren, Peyton Durbin, Shawn Crook, Kaylee Flanders, Ellison Mouser, Ryleigh Boles, Kaitlyn Boles, Allie Blair, Emma Blair, Bradley Blair, Trinity Lashley, Lexi Lashley, and Willow Curle; two stepgreat-grandchildren, Marrissa Keith and Joey Keith; several nieces and nephews.
The funeral is 11 a.m. Tuesday, May 23, 2017, at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church with the Rev. Chris Lubecke officiating. Burial is in St. Gregory Cemetery.
Visitation is 1-8 p.m. Monday, May 22, 2017, and 9-10:15 a.m. Tuesday, May 23, 2017, at Barlow Funeral Home.
Memorial contributions may go to the U of L Stroke Center and Norton’s Hosparus Inpatient Unit.
