Obituary: Oscar Garcia Villanueva, 90, Radcliff
Oscar Garcia Villanueva, 90, of Radcliff, went to be with the Lord, Wednesday, May 17, 2017. He was at home at the time of his passing. He was born April 16, 1927, in Mercedes, Texas, to Eleuterio Villanueva and the former Guadalupe Garcia. He was a retired U.S. Army veteran of World War II who faithfully served for 22 years. He then began a second career as an illustrator designer in the civil service. He enjoyed more than 20 years of service and earned his second retirement in 1990. He was a local sign painter, artist and avid bowler,
He was preceded in death by his wife, Emilia Hernandez Villanueva; one sister; and four brothers.
Survivors include six children, Robert “Bob V.” Villanueva (Rebecca Ricks) of Elizabethtown, Oscar Villanueva (Janne) of Phoenix, Ariz., Sandy Cruse (Mitchell), of Hodgenville, Glenn Villanueva (Betty), of Rineyville, Victor Villanueva (Kelley) of Hartselle, Ala., and Lisa Madden (Mike) of Ware Shoals, S.C.; two sisters; two brothers; and several grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
A memorial service was held on May 19, 2017.
