Obituary: Philip Leon Mills, 68, Raywick

Philip Leon Mills, 68, of Raywick, died Tuesday, May 23, 2017, at his residence. He was born Sept. 19, 1948, in St. Joe. He operated “Mills ATV Service and Repair” in Raywick and was commissioned a Kentucky Colonel.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Joseph Leo and Susan Aline Mattingly Mills; and an infant brother, Robert Neal Mills.

Survivors include two daughters, Tammy Mills of Moore, Okla., and Tonya Hatt (Brian) of Raywick;

five grandchildren, Alayna Willson, Austin Hinshaw, Autumn Hatt, Zachery Mills and Megan Snidow; one great-granddaughter, Lillian Snidow; 10 sisters, Patricia Ann Mills and Doris Osborne, both of Loretto, Laverne Sapp (Jerry) of Finley, Frances Cecil (Edwin), Marsha Clark (Jim) and JoAnn Reid (Ernest), all of Bardstown, Nancy Jones of Louisville, Ginger Mills-Schmidt (Scott) of Bolder, Colo., Virginia Bland (Joe) of Waddy and Donna Carroll (Philip) of Lexington; four brothers, Joseph Leo Mills Jr. (Carol) of St. Charles, Mo., Tommy Mills (Diane) of Louisville, Charles Mills (Mary Ann) of Lebanon and Donald Mills of Port Lyons, Mich.

Cremation was chosen.

The memorial service is 2 p.m. Saturday, May 27, 2017 at Saint Francis Xavier Catholic Church, 108 Main Street, Raywick with Deacon Joe Bland, his brother-in-law, officiating.

The Mattingly Funeral Home in Loretto is in charge of the arrangements.
