EMS, police respond Saturday night for man injured in assault

Sunday, June 4, 2017, 1 p.m. — Nelson County EMS responded Saturday evening June 3 for a report of a man injured after being struck by a rake. EMS and sheriff’s deputies were dispatched at about 10:44 p.m. to the Copperfields subdivision after receiving a call of a male subject with lacerations to the face.

The male subject met EMS at the intersection of Plum Run Road and Louisville Road and initially refused treatment or transport by EMS. Shortly after EMS left, they were requested by police to return to the scene. EMS treated the 38-year-old male victim and transported him to Flaget Memorial Hospital for treatment of his injuries.
