Obituary: Frances Mae Osbourne Peterson, 83, Loretto

FRANCES MAE OSBOURNE PETERSON

Frances Mae Osbourne Peterson, 83, of Loretto, died Thursday, June 1, 2017, at Norton Women’s & Children’s Hospital in Louisville. She was born Dec. 30, 1933, in Washington County. She was a dedicated caregiver at Loretto Motherhouse for many years and also volunteered at Springview Hospital in Lebanon. She was an active member of St. Charles Catholic Church and was a choir member there for many years. She also enjoyed being involved in the Loretto Senior Citizens group. She loved seeing her grandchildren and great grandchildren, especially the babies.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Louis Bertrand and Mary Cecilia Spalding Osbourne; one sister, Alice Graves; and one brother, Bro. Peter Osbourne O.P..

Survivors include her husband of 61 years, Henry Peterson; six daughters, Karen Rogers (Gerry) of Lebanon, Janet Oliver (Bill) and Julia Hardy (Jesse) all of Louisville, Ann Lair (Andy) of Cincinnati, Ohio, Susie Spalding (Marty) of Mooresville, N.C. and Robin Mills (Kenny) of Raywick; three sons, Kenny Peterson (Sandy) of Lebanon, Greg Peterson of Polk City, Fla. and Thad Peterson (Kim) of Loretto; one sister, Joann Smith (Charles Owen) of Lebanon; two brothers, Sidney Osbourne (Ruth Ann) of Springfield and Bill Osbourne (Terri) of Bardstown; 22 grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren.

The Mass of Christian Burial is 11 a.m. Monday, June 5, 2017, at St. Charles Catholic Church, 675 Highway 327, Lebanon with the Rev. David Naylor presiding. Burial is in the church cemetery.

Visitation is 3-8 p.m. Sunday, June 4, 2017, at the Mattingly Funeral Home, 195 Holy Cross Road, Loretto, with a prayer service at 7 PM with Deacon Joseph R. Dant.

Memorial donations may go to the Loretto Motherhouse, 515 Nerinx Road, Nerinx, KY 40049

Pallbearers are grandsons Nick Rogers, Sam Oliver, Scott Myers, Taylor Myers, Dalton Mills, Chris Peterson, Michael Hardy, John Lair, Stevie Lair, Alex Spalding, Luke Spalding, Dillon Peterson, Cody Peterson, Austin Peterson and Andrew Peterson.

The Mattingly Funeral Home in Loretto is in charge of arrangements.
