Bardstown man seriously injured in Sunday night motorcycle crash

Monday, May 30, 2011  — The man who was seriously injured in a motorcycle crash Sunday night has been identified as Terrane C. “T.C.” Drake, 24, of Bardstown.

Drake was a former tight end for the University of Kentucky and played a short time on the Kansas City Chiefs in 2010.

According to an accident report, Jennifer Reed, 35, pulled out in front of Drake, who was traveling east on Bloomfield Road. Reed attempted to make a left-hand turn and pulled into Drake’s path. Drake’s motorcycle struck Reed’s 1999 Ford Taurus in the passenger-side doors. He was ejected from his motorcycle by the impact.

Drake was not wearing a helmet and suffered severe head injuries. He was taken by Nelson County EMS to Flaget Memorial Hospital where he was airlifted to University of Louisville Hospital.

Reed was arrested and charged with operating a motor vehicle under the influence of alcohol/drugs/etc.; first-degree assault; failure to have insurance, and failure to notify her address change to the Kentucky Department of Transportation.

The accident happened a little past 9 p.m.
