Obituary: Steve Fenwick, 70, Cox’s Creek

STEVE FENWICK

Steve Fenwick, 70, of Cox’s Creek, died Monday, June 5, 2017, at his residence. He was born Feb. 5, 1947, in Dant Station. He was a member of St. Gregory Catholic Church. He drove several years for Greyhound Bus Lines. He retired from Newcomb Oil in 2013 after 28 years of service. He was a meticulous carpenter who created hundreds of hand-crafted pieces of furniture, and priceless family treasures. He enjoyed four-wheeling with family and working alongside his wife in their family-owned travel business Fenwick Tours for years.

He was preceded in death by parents, William Walker and Mary Frances Dant Fenwick; two brothers, Jerry Fenwick and Donald Fenwick; one sister-in-law, Evelyn Fenwick; and one brother-in-law, Junior Boblett.

He is survived by his loving wife of 51 years, Mary Bernadine Lyvers Fenwick; two sons, Tim (Rhonda) Fenwick of Cox’s Creek and Jim Fenwick of Shepherdsville; three sisters, Becky (Buddy) Riggs and Sue (Danny) Cissell, both of Holy Cross, and Evelyn Boblett of Springfield; one brother, Mike (Cathy) Fenwick of Bardstown; one sister-in-law, Charlotte Fenwick; one grandson, William Stephen Fenwick; and several nieces and nephews.

The Mass of Christian Burial is 11 a.m. Friday, June 9, 2017, at St. Gregory Catholic Church with burial in the church cemetery with the Rev. Peter Do officiating.

Visitation is 2-8 p.m. Thursday, June 8, 2017, and 9-10:15 Friday at the Barlow Funeral Home.

Memorial contribution may go to Hospice of Nelson County.
