Obituary: Doris Mary Brown Milligan, 86, Shepherdsville

Doris Mary Brown Milligan, 86, of Shepherdsville, died Wednesday, June 7, 2017, at Baptist Hospital East. She was a Catholic by faith. She loved spending time with her family more than anything. She loved the Lord and truly taught us the meaning of love.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Glenn E. “Shorty” Milligan; one daughter, Sharon Lynn Matthews; one son, Glenn E. Milligan; her parents, Matthew and Lula Brown; several brothers and sisters; and a great-grandchild, George Thomas Simmons.

Survivors include two daughters, Glenna Darlene Dawson of New Haven and Mary Lou Hall of Shepherdsville; one son, Stephen W. Milligan of Lexington; one sister, Lorine Hefley of Elizabethtown; one sister-in-law, Norma Hagan of Lebanon Junction; 11 grandchildren; 26 great-grandchildren; and six great-great-grandchildren.

The funeral is 11 a.m. Monday, June 12, 2017, at the Kappel Funeral Home in Lebanon Junction with Pastor David Rose officiating. Burial is in the Lebanon Junction City Cemetery.

Visitation is 1-8 p.m. Sunday, June 11, 2017, and after 9 a.m. Monday at the funeral home.

The Kappel Funeral Home in Lebanon Junction is in charge of the arrangements.
