Obituary: Charles Edward Reed, 75, Hodgenville

Charles Edward Reed, 75, of Hodgenville, died Saturday, June 10, 2017, at Hardin Memorial Hospital in Elizabethtown. He was a member of St. Ann Catholic Church in Howardstown. He retired as a plumber with Leo McMillen Plumbing. He was born Nov. 28, 1941, in Larue County to the late John and Mary Ann Bartley Reed.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Martha Reed; his parents; five sisters, Agnes Trawick, Catherine Reed, Theresa Taylor, Bertha Culver and Elizabeth Plouvier; and three brothers, Marvin Reed, George Reed and Ben Reed.

Survivors include one daughter, Charlotte Ann Devers of Hodgenville; one son, Charles Glen Reed of New Hope; seven grandchildren, Samantha Hahn, Nicole Devers, Page Reed, Brandon Reed, Ryan Carter, Payton Reed and Martha Reed; and two great-grandchildren, Ryker Hahn and Griffin Henderson.

The funeral is 6 p.m. Tuesday, June 13, 2017, at The William R. Rust Funeral Home Hodgenville Chapel with the Rev. Gordon McDowell officiating. Burial is in the St. Jocahim Cemetery.

Visitation is 11 a.m. – 6 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.

The William R. Rust Funeral Home Hodgenville Chapel, 612 N. Lincoln Blvd, Hodgenville, is in charge of arrangements.
