Obituary: Barbara Jo Gibson, 66, Bardstown
Barbara Jo Gibson, 66, of Bardstown, died Thursday, June 22, 2017, at her residence. She was born Sept. 9, 1950, in Bardstown to the late Ernest Sr. and Effie Elizabeth Clark Smith. She retired from General Electric and was an adamant bingo player and a member of the Catholic faith.

She is survived by her son, Jason (Jackie) Gibson of Louisville; six sisters, Jo Ann (Leroy) Boone, Pam Smith, Lorraine (Ray) Ralston and Juanita (John III) Fogle, all of Bardstown, Annie Mattingly of Louisville, and Sharon (Jerry) Mattingly of Cox’s Creek; five brothers, Ernest “Sonny” Smith Jr. and Joseph “Tiny” (Nadine) Smith, both of Cox’s Creek, Randall (Debbie) Smith and James “Unky” Smith, both of Bardstown and Keith (Donna) Smith of Shepherdsville; her fiance’ Russell Reynolds of Lebanon; and three grandchildren, Ethan, Lilly and Christian.
The funeral is 11 a.m. Monday, June 26, 2017, at Houghlin-Greenwell Funeral Home with Deacon David Farrell officiating. Cremation will follow the service.
Visitation is 3-8 p.m. Sunday, June 25, 2017, and 8:30-11 a.m. Monday at the funeral home.
The Houghlin-Greenwell Funeral Home, 1475 New Shepherdsville Road, is in charge of arrangements.
