Obituary: Emily Pugh SCN, 91
Emily Pugh SCN, 91, died Wednesday, June 27, 2017, at Nazareth Home in Louisville. She was born in Bardstown and had been a professed Sister of Charity of Nazareth for 72 years.
From 1945-1963 she served as a teacher in elementary education in Paducah, Bellevue, Memphis, Tenn., Bridgeport, Ohio, and Hyde Park, Mass. From 1963-1972 she served as a teacher of English, French, and history in secondary education at schools in Louisville, Owensboro, Brockton, Mass, and Birmingham, Ala. She also served as the director of religious education in Brockton and Bridgewater, Mass.
She is survived by her nieces, nephews, her religious community, and by the many persons whose lives she touched.
Visitation is 1:30-2:30 p.m. Wednesday, July 5, 2017, at Nazareth Home and after 4 p.m. at St. Vincent Church on the Nazareth campus.
The Funeral Mass is 10:30 a.m. Thursday, July 6, 2017, at St. Vincent Church with burial in the Nazareth Cemetery.
