Obituary: Beulah Mae Hardin, 79, Loretto

Beulah Mae Hardin, 79, of Loretto, died Saturday, July 1, 2017, at Campbellsville Nursing and Rehab. She was born Aug. 31, 1937, in Marion County to the late James and Emma O’Daniel Simpson.

She was preceded in death by her husband, James Everett Hardin Sr.; one sister, Doris Marie Ruley; three brothers, J.E. Simpson, Ricky Simpson and Mike Simpson; her stepfather, James Tinnell; two infant grandchildren, Julia Paige and James Cody Hardin; two infant great-grandsons, James Sawyer Wheeler and baby Ford; and one son-in-law, Jackie Byrd.

Survivors include four daughters, Laura Dulmaine (Mike), Mary Ellen Hutchins (Ronnie) and Marie Helen Hardin (J.R.), all of Loretto and Cindy Byrd of Willisburg; two sons, Kenny Patrick Stayton of Perryville and James Everett Hardin Jr. (Sharon) of Lebanon; four sisters, Clara Jean Rogers (Lee), Catherine Gartland (Keith), Rita Peake and Helen Kappell (Eddie), all of Bardstown; three brothers, Freddy Simpson (Jenny), Tommy Simpson and Steve Simpson, all of Bardstown; seven grandchildren, James Everett Hardin III, Abigail Hardin Fulkerson, Heather Byrd, Brittany Byrd, Jonathan Thompson, Megan Thompson and Blake Ford; five great-grandchildren, Elijah Zane Wheeler, Isaac Fulkerson, Madelyn Fulkerson, Colton Shively and Caiden Shively.

The Mass of Christian Burial is 10 a.m. Wednesday, July 5, 2017, at St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church, 6785 Highway 52, Loretto, with the Rev. Bryan Lamberson officiating. Burial is in the church cemetery.

Visitation is 1-8 p.m. Tuesday, July 4, 2017, at the Mattingly Funeral Home, 195 Holy Cross Road, Loretto with a 7 p.m. prayer service by Deacon Donnie Coulter.

The Mattingly Funeral Home in Loretto is in charge of arrangements.
