Obituary: Carolyn Downs Thompson, 70, Bardstown
Carolyn Downs Thompson, 70, of Bardstown, died Friday, June 30, 2017, at Baptist Health. She was born Sept. 29, 1946, in Nelson County. She was a graduate of Spencerian College, and member of St. Thomas Catholic Church. She formerly worked at Flaget Memorial Hospital and was a caregiver.

She is preceded in death by her husband, James R. “Jimmy” Thompson; her parents, Fabian and Mae Downs; and one brother, Ronnie Downs.
She is survived by one daughter, Tammy Blincoe of Bardstown; two sisters, Debbie Boone and Cathy (Victor) Hall, both of Bardstown; one brother, Willie Downs of Bardstown; one grandson, Gabe Blincoe of Bardstown; six nieces and nephews, Hunter (Sydnee) Boone, Alex Boone, Justin (Michelle) Hall, Benjamin (Emily) Hall, Shannon Downs, and Troy (Erin) Downs; two great-nieces, Alera Cornett and Victoria Hall; and three great-nephews, Cortland Downs, Westin Downs, and Holden Downs.
The funeral is 11 a.m. Wednesday, July 5, 2017, at Barlow Funeral Home with Deacon Sam Filiatreau officiating. Burial in the St. Thomas Cemetery.
Visitation is 2-8 p.m Tuesday, July 4, 2017, and 9-11 a.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
