Obituary: Della Marie Lacefield, 75, Hillview, formerly of Bloomfield

DELLA MARIE LACEFIELD

Della Marie Lacefield, 75, of Hillview, returned to her Heavenly Father Thursday, June 29, 2017, with her loving canine companions by her side. She was born Jan. 2, 1942, in Bloomfield, and had previously worked for Kmart for 37 years and Meijer for 12 years.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Homer and Hazel Thompson.

She leaves to cherish her memory six children, Frank Gardner, Debbie Hill, Ricky Hill, Vicky Stone, Jerry Cook and Jericho Cook (Jennifer Cecil); one sister, Rachel McCawley; seven grandchildren, Gregory Stone, Daniel Stone, Shawn Hardesty, Brooke Hill, Alexis Hill, Priscilla Cook and Amanda Bloomer (Clayton); two great-grandchildren, Olivia Bloomer and Abby Bloomer; her canine companions, Spiffy, Frisky and Honey; and a host of other family and friends.

The funeral is noon Thursday, July 6, 2017, at Schoppenhorst Underwood and Brooks Funeral Home in Mount Washington (Hwy 44 East one mile from Bardstown Rd.) with burial in Kings Baptist Church Cemetery.

Visitation is 2-8 p.m. Wednesday, July 5, 2017, and after 9 a.m. Thursday at the funeral home.

Expressions of sympathy may take the form of contributions to the Jefferson County Humane Society.

The Schoppenhorst Underwood and Brooks Funeral Home in Mount Washington is in charge of arrangements.
