Obituary: Charles Mitchell Henry, 24, Elizabethtown

CHARLES MITCHELL HENRY

Charles Mitchell Henry, 24, of Elizabethtown, went to be with his Saviour, Friday, June 30, 2017, at MD Anderson Cancer Center in Houston. His faith always came first in his life, followed by spending time with his wife and his golden retriever, Jack, along with his family and friends. He loved being outdoors, especially when hunting and fishing. He enjoyed all sports, but had a passion for basketball and football.

He was a 2011 graduate of Elizabethtown High School and a 2015 graduate of Western Kentucky University. He signed with the Green Bay Packers, Denver Broncos and Baltimore Ravens to play professional football. The lights that shined on him never shined brighter than the light that shined in him.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Charles and Katie Henry of Bowling Green.

He is survived by his wife, Madison (Hayden) Henry; his golden retriever, Jack; his parents, Terry and Lesley (Talbott) Henry of Elizabethtown; one brother, Ben (Anna) Henry of Shelbyville; and his grandparents, Jude and Almedie Talbott of Bardstown.

The funeral is 2 p.m. Thursday, July 6, 2017, at First Christian Church,1811 N Miles St, Elizabethtown, with Bro. Doug Mitchell officiating. Burial is in Elizabethtown Memorial Gardens.

Visitation is from noon to 8 p.m. Wednesday, July 5, 2017, and after 10 a.m. Thursday at the church.

Expressions of sympathy may take the form of donations to the Fellowship of Christian Athletes of Kentucky.

Brown Funeral Home, 306 College St., Elizabethtown is in charge of arrangements.
