Obituary: William Earl ‘Billy’ Greenwell, 92, Culvertown

William Earl “Billy” Greenwell, 92, of Culvertown, died Monday, July 3, 2017, at his home surrounded by his family. He was the founder and former owner of Greenwell Aluminum Co. and a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church. He was the youngest of 10 children.

He was preceded in death by one son, Bryan Greenwell; an infant grandson, Trent Greenwell; his parents, Martin Eugene and Rosa Bertha Greenwell; and nine siblings, Heizer, Eugene, Charles, Junior, John, Woodrow, Ethel, Carmen and Emily.

He is survived by his loving wife of 68 years, Agnes Verna Metcalfe Greenwell; nine daughters, Marlene Harrell (Wayne), Charlotte Scott (Travis), Laura Anne Ice (Bobby), Debbie Moore (Jimmy), Barbara Woods (Don), Jennifer Smith (Joe), Susan Greenwell, Kaye Lanham (Mike), and Carla Hardin (Steve); four sons, Ed Greenwell, Bruce Greenwell, Scott (LeAnn) Greenwell, and Todd (Angie) Greenwell; with 20 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.

The Funeral Mass is 10 a.m. Thursday, July 6, 2017, at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Culvertown with the Rev. Chris Lubecke officiating. Burial is in the St. Thomas Cemetery.

Visitation is 3-8 p.m. Wednesday, July 5, 2017, and after 8 a.m. Thursday at the Joseph L. Greenwell Funeral Home, 324 Center St., New Haven.
