Obituary: Mary Pauletta Kane, SCN, 92

Mary Pauletta Kane, SCN, 92, died Saturday, July 8, 2017, at Nazareth. She was born in Boston, Mass. She had been a professed Sister of Charity of Nazareth for 67 years.

She served as a teacher in secondary education at St. Patrick High School in Brockton, Mass.; at Nazareth High School in South Boston, Mass.; at Owensboro Catholic in Owensboro; and at Good Shepherd High School in Frankfort. In 1966 she received a Master’s Degree in Theology from Marquette University. From 1966-1971 she served as the Director of Novices at Nazareth. She also served the SCN Community as the Regional in Quincy, Mass. from 1991-1996 and later as a Motherhouse Coordinator. She served in parish ministries in Richmond, Va. at Sacred Heart Cathedral, and in Henderson at Holy Name.

She is survived by several nieces and nephews, her religious community, and by the many persons whose lives she touched.

Visitation is 4-6:30 p.m. July 14, 2017, with a prayer vigil at 6:30 p.m. at St. Vincent Church at Nazareth.

The Funeral Mass is 10:30 a.m. Saturday, July 15, 2017, at St. Vincent Church at Nazareth with burial in the Nazareth Cemetery.
