Obituary: Rolland D. Brooks, 71, Big Clifty

Rolland D. Brooks, 71, of Big Clifty, died Friday, July 7, 2017, at his residence in Big Clifty. He was born in Zanesville, Ohio, to Rolland and Mildred Brooks. He was a U.S. Army veteran.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Rolland and Mildred M. Keller Brooks.

He is survived by his loving wife, Dee Brooks of Big Clifty; one daughter, Devi Gardener of Columbus, Ohio; two sons, Doug Brooks of Eastview and Danny Brooks of Plant City, Fla.; four grandchildren, Mysti Brooks of Bardstown, Brennan Brooks of Elizabethtown, Jenna Brooks of Columbus, Ohio and Brittany Brooks of Plant City, Fla.; and one great-granddaughter, Anna Brooks of Elizabethtown.

The funeral is 7 p.m. Thursday July 13, 2017, at Manakee Funeral Home of Elizabethtown with the Rev. Jerry Bell officiating. Burial is 11 a.m. Friday, July 14, 2017, in the Kentucky Veterans Cemetery Central.

Visitation is 4-7 p.m. Thursday, at the Manakee Funeral Home of Elizabethtown.

The Manakee Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
