Obituary: Dixie Breeding, 98, Cox’s Creek

Dixie Breeding, 98, of Cox’s Creek, died Sunday, July 16, 2017, at Baptist Health of Louisville. She was born April 5, 1919, in Van, Ky. She was a loving wife and mother, and enjoyed gardening and working with flowers.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Monroe Breeding; her parents, Gus Adams and Arminda Adams Sergent; two sisters, Vada Boyd and Goldie Morton; and two brothers, Kenny Adams and Hubert Adams.

She is survived by her daughter, Jevetta Breeding of Cox’s Creek; one son, Gus Breeding of Cox’s Creek; two sisters, Eulamae Stevens of New Haven, Ind., and Burnidean Humbarger of Tavares, Fla.; one brother, Clayton Adams of Fort Wayne, Ind.; and several nieces and nephews.

The funeral is 1 p.m. Wednesday, July 19, 2017, at Barlow Funeral Home with the Rev. William “Pete” Johnson and the Rev. Rodney Lynch officiating. Burial is in the Bardstown Cemetery.

Visitation is 8:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. Wednesday, July 19, 2017, at the funeral home.
