Mary Ann Bowling Wimsett, 76, New Haven

Mary Ann Bowling Wimsett, 76, New Haven, died Saturday, May 28, 2011, at Flaget Memorial Hospital. She was born Nov. 2, 1934 and was a member of St. Catherine of Alexandria Catholic Church, New Haven. She was retired from Jim Beam Distilleries, Clermont, after 42 years of service.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph Earl “Junior” Wimsett Jr.; a daughter-in-law, Gayle McCubbins Wimsett; a grandson, Lawrence Wayne Dones; her parents. Lawrence and Mary Etta Gilkey Bowling; five brothers, Alfred “Al” Bowling, Frank Bowling, Tom Bowling, Steve Bowling, Sylvester “Ves” Bowling; a sister, Sr. Mildred Bowling SCN; and a special friend, Charles E. Hartman.

Survivors include five sons, James D. “Jiggs” Wimsett, Maynard Wimsett and Larry (Darlene) Wimsett, all of Bardstown, Alfred (Tiffany) Wimsett, Lyons Station and Michael Wimsett, New Haven; a daughter, Vickie Wimsett, Magnolia; a brother, James A. (Louise) Bowling, Fairbourne, Ohio; a sister, Vicky (Maynard) McCubbin, Elizabethtown; five grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; a special caregiver, Angie Newton, New Haven; and several nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

A Mass of Christian burial will be 11 a.m. Tuesday at St. Catherine of Alexandria Catholic Church, New Haven, with burial in the church cemetery. The Rev. Troy Overton, pastor of St. Catherine of Alexandria Catholic Church, will officiate.

A prayer service is 6 p.m. Monday at the chapel of William R. Rust Funeral Home. Visitation is 2-8 p.m. Monday and 8:30 a.m. Tuesday until the time of the service.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests expressions of sympathy be made to St. Catherine of Alexandria Academy or Hospice of Nelson County.

William R. Rust Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
