Firefighters respond for smoking tractor-trailer axle on BG parkway

July 19, 2017 — The Boston Fire Department and Nelson County Fire Department were dispatched Wednesday morning for a possible fire involving a semi tractor-trailer carrying a piece of heavy equipment.

At 8:35 a.m., the Nelson County Fire Department was dispatched first to the area of New Haven Road and the Bluegrass Parkway for a possible semi tractor-trailer fire. The semi was later determined to be near the Boston exit on the Bluegrass Parkway. The Boston Fire Department responded and extinguished a fire in the trailer’s rear axle. Units were on the scene for about 30 minutes.
