Obituary: Linda Sue Vernon Gaulke, 70, Buffalo

Linda Sue Vernon Gaulke, 70, of Buffalo, died Tuesday, July 16, 2017, at her home. She was a homemaker and a Methodist by faith. She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother. She was born Feb. 25, 1947 in Norton, Va., to the late Homer and Nellie Web Vernon.

She was preceded in death by her parents and one brother, Kenny Vernon.

She is survived by her husband of 50 years, Gerald Allen “Jerry” Gaulke of Buffalo; one daughter, Carol (Kenny) Carter of Elizabethtown; one son, Walter Allen Gaulke of Buffalo; five sisters, Kay Vernon, Mae Vernon and Ella Vernon, all of Virginia; Patricia Vernon of Viper, and Norma Sullivan of Big Stone Gap, Va.; three brothers, Kerrie, Terry and Carroll Vernon, all of Virginia; three grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; and several nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

The funeral and visitation is 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Friday, July 21, 2017, at the William R. Rust Funeral Home Hodgenville Chapel, 612 N. Lincoln Blvd. with Brother Gordon McDowell officiating.

The William R. Rust Funeral Home Hodgenville Chapel is in charge of arrangements.
