New Haven man indicted Wednesday on charges of sodomy, incest

Wednesday, July 19, 2017, 5:50 p.m. — A New Haven man was indicted on sodomy and incest charges Wednesday by a Nelson County grand jury.
Steven Luvisi, 41, of New Haven, was indicted on charges of sodomy, first-degree, incest and persistent felony offender, second-degree.
According to the the indictment, on or before May 23, 2017, Luvisi allegedly engaged in deviate sexual intercourse with a person under the age of 12.
Both charges are Class A felonies, punishable by 20 to 50 years imprisonment or life in prison if convicted.
Luvisi was also charged with being a persistent felony offender in the second-degree, an enhancement that can mean a longer sentence if convicted on the primary charges.
Luvisi is scheduled to be arraigned in Nelson Circuit Court at 9 a.m. on Aug. 3, 2017. Bail was set at $100,000 cash only, plus conditions that include avoiding contact and communication with the alleged victim.
