Special county school board meeting called to approve superintendent agreement

SUPERINTENDENT ANTHONY ORR

Wednesday, July 19, 2017, 5:50 p.m. — The Nelson County Board of Education has scheduled a special meeting for 5 p.m. Thursday to discuss and approve an agreement with district Superintendent Anthony Orr.

At Tuesday night’s school board meeting there were rumors circulating that the board had decided not to extend Orr’s contract. During the public comment portion of Tuesday’s meeting there were additional calls from former teachers and parents to remove Orr as superintendent.

When asked about the rumors, Orr said decisions about his contract would require public action by the board.

The agenda is as follows:

I. Call to Order
II. Discussion and approval of Agreement with Superintendent Orr
III. Discussion and approval of creation of and job description for Director of Process, Research and Improvement
IV. Executive Session
V. Adjourn Executive Session and return to Regular Session
VI. Adjourn

The meeting will take place in the board meeting room at the district’s Central Office at 288 Wildcat Lane in Bardstown.
