Obituary: Nancy Mae Mattingly, 73, Bardstown

NANCY MAE MATTINGLY

Nancy Mae Mattingly, 73, of Bardstown, died Friday, July 21, 2017, at her residence. She was born Feb. 24, 1944, in Bardstown to the late Albert and Anna Marie Newton. She was a retired employee of Heaven Hill Distillery and was a member of Mill Creek Baptist Church. Her hobby was spending time with her grandchildren.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, James Morris Mattingly; three sisters, Pauline Curtsinger, Susan Mattingly and Judy Satterly; and two brothers, David Newton and Carl Newton.

She is survived by one daughter, Angie (Mark) Young of Bardstown; one son, Jimmy (Tammy) Mattingly of Loretto;, one sister, Mary Ann (Freddie) Willett of Bardstown; one brother, Jerry (Linda) Newton of St. Francis; five grandchildren, Calli (Brandon) Cox, Lindsey Mattingly, Logan Mattingly, Chandler Young and Rachel Young; and one great-grandchild, Hayden Cox.

The funeral is 11 a.m. Tuesday, July 25, 2017, at the Houghlin-Greenwell Funeral Home with Bro. Gary Chesser officiating. Burial is in the Holy Cross Cemetery.

Visitation is 3-8 p.m. Monday, July 24, 2017 and after 8:30 a.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.

The family requests that expressions of sympathy take the form of contributions to Hospice of Nelson County or the Mill Creek Baptist Church Building Fund.

The Houghlin-Greenwell Funeral Home, 1475 New Shepherdsville Road, is in charge of arrangements.
