Obituary: Lucille Cundiff, 97, Bloomfield

LUCILLE CUNDIFF

Lucille Cundiff, 97, of Bloomfield, died Saturday, July 22, 2017, at University of Louisville Hospital. She was born Sept. 3, 1919, in Anderson County to the late Tyler and Jessie Jeanette Brothers. She was a homemaker, a member of Chaplin Christian Church, and loved fishing, dancing and raising flowers in her garden.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Joe Yates; two sons, Edgar Yates and Leon Yates; one great-grandchild, Mark Freibert; and one great-great-grandchild, Jordan Yates.

She is survived by one daughter, Kathleen Milburn of Bloomfield; one son, J.L. (Marilyn) Yates of Bloomfield; one sister, Plumie Hoskins of Lawrenceburg; one brother, Namon Brothers of Versailles; 13 grandchildren; 31 great-grandchildren; several great-great-grandchildren; and one great-great-great-grandchild.

The funeral is 11 a.m. Wednesday, July 26, 2017, at the Houghlin Funeral Home in Bloomfield with Bro. Doug Simpson officiating. Burial is in the Highview Cemetery.

Visitation is 3-8 p.m. Tuesday, July 25, 2017, at the funeral home.

The Houghlin Funeral Home of Bloomfield is in charge of arrangements.
