Obituary: Delmont Ray Kennedy, 82, New Haven

DELMONT RAY KENNEDY

Delmont Ray Kennedy, 82, of New Haven, died Thursday, July 27, 2017 at his home. He was a native of New Haven, a retired employee of Gates Corporation, a U.S. Army veteran, and a Mason. He was also a member of Rolling Fork Christian Church.

He was preceded in death by one daughter, Victoria Kim; his parents, Bryant and Bessie Lafollette Kennedy Sr.; one sister, Hilda Imogene Kennedy; and four brothers, Cecil Kennedy, Bryant Kennedy Jr. and two infant brothers.

He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Nonia Jean Morgan Kennedy; two daughters, Becky (Larry) and Paula (Chris) Kennedy; one son, Mark Kennedy; and five grandchildren, Aaron Kennedy, Wyatt Bennett, Brittany Bennett, Alex Clarke, and Easton Norris.

The funeral is 10 a.m. Tuesday, Aug. 1, 2017, at the Joseph L. Greenwell Funeral Home with Bro. John Williams officiating. Burila is in the Edlin Creek Cemetery.

Visitation is 4-8 p.m. Monday, July 31, 2017, and after 8 a.m. Tuesday.

The Joseph L. Greenwell Funeral Home in New Haven is in charge of arrangements.
