Obituary: Joseph David Donahue, 55, New Haven

Joseph David Donahue, 55, of New Haven, died Thursday, Aug. 3, 2017, at Hardin Memorial Hospital in Elizabethtown. He was a member of St. Mark Catholic Church in Bardstown and attended St. Thomas Catholic Church after St. Mark closed. He was owner/operator of Donahue’s Fire Wood Services before becoming disabled. He was born Sept. 7, 1961, in Bardstown and was the son of the late James Adam “Jodie” and Shirley Marie Clark Donahue. He was a loving father, grandfather, brother, uncle and friend.

He is survived by three sons, James Daniel Donahue, William Adam (Ashley) Donahue, and Dustin Wayne Donahue, all of Bardstown; three sisters, Debbie Smith and Helen Donahue, both of New Haven and Selvy (Ronnie) Hoback of Bardstown; one brother, Michael Kevin (Pammie Shain) Donahue of New Haven; two grandchildren, Dakota Donahue and Bethany Stone; and several nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

The Mass of Christian Burial is 10 a.m. Monday, Aug. 7, 2017, at St. Thomas Catholic Church in Bardstown with the Rev. Jason Harris officiating.

Visitation is 1-8 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 6, 2017, and 8-9:15 a.m. Monday at the William R. Rust Funeral Home in New Haven with a prayer service at 4 p.m. Sunday.

The William R. Rust Funeral Home, 167 N. Main St., New Haven is in charge of arrangements.
