Obituary: Barbara Carol Hoback DeWitt, 59, New Haven

Barbara Carol Hoback DeWitt, 59, of New Haven, died Sunday, Aug. 6, 2017, at Flaget Memorial Hospital in Bardstown. She attended the Gleanings Baptist Church and was a homemaker. She was born Oct. 2, 1957 in New Haven, the daughter of the late John Walter and Holly Price Hoback.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph Fredrick “Joe Fred” DeWitt; and one son, Barry Dewayne Hoback.

Survivors include one daughter, Barbara Jean (William Luther III) Ward of New Haven; one son, Joseph Fredrick “Joey” DeWitt Jr. of New Haven; two sisters, Mary Ann Newton of New Haven and Theresa Wells of Elizabethtown; one brother, Ronnie (Shelvy) Hoback of Bardstown; three grandchildren; and several nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Graveside services are 11 a.m. Wednesday, Aug. 9, 2017, in the St. Catherine of Alexandria Catholic Church cemetery in New Haven with the Rev. Karl Lusk officiating.

The William R. Rust Funeral Home, 167 N. Main St., New Haven, is in charge of arrangements.
