Obituary: Mary Lee Maddox, 90, Bloomfield

MARY LEE MADDOX

Mary Lee Maddox, 90, of Bloomfield, died Saturday, Aug. 5, 2017, in Louisville. She was born May 30, 1927, in Fairfield to the late David Lee and Amelia Jenny King Hickman. She was a homemaker and a member of the Fairfield Second Baptist Church. She was a wonderful mother and granny who loved gardening and was a great cook.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, John Owen Maddox, three sons, Rodney Maddox, Randy Maddox, and Owen Lee Maddox; and four grandchildren.

She is survived by two daughters, Julia Maxwell and Anita Joyce Scott, both of Louisville; two sons, John Caleb “Butch” (Darcy) Maddox of Louisville and Gary Wayne (Margaret) Maddox of Bardstown; one sister, Roslyn (James) Robinson of Lexington; 31 grandchildren; 50 great-grandchildren; and 12 great-great-grandchildren.

The funeral is 1 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 12, 2017, at the Fairfield Second Baptist Church with burial in the Bloomfield Cemetery.

Visitation is 5-8 p.m. Friday, Aug. 11, 2017, at the Houghlin Funeral Home in Bloomfield and after 11 a.m. Saturday at the church.

The Houghlin Funeral Home of Bloomfield is entrusted with arrangements.
