KSP identifies victims in Friday’s fatal crash near Flaget Hospital

Saturday, April 12, 2017 — The Kentucky State Police have identified the two people who died in Friday evening’s three-vehicle crash on KY 245 near Flaget Memorial Hospital.

Billie Watts, 30, of Cox’s Creek and Amber Tingle, 25, of Shepherdsville, both died of injuries sustained in the crash that resulted when a Ford pickup truck crossed into their lane and struck their vehicle head-on.

According to a KSP press release, Tayseer Lewis, 34, of Brandenburg, was traveling west on KY245 when for unknown reasons his pickup truck crossed into the eastbound lanes, first striking the rear of a Hyundai Elantra operated by Krystal Fauth, 34, of Cox’s Creek, before colliding head-on with a 1995 Ford Mustang operated by Amber Tingle, 25, of Shepherdsville.

Tingle and her passenger, Billie Watts, had to be extricated from the vehicle by first-responders. They were treated at the scene by Nelson County EMS before each was flown from Flaget Hospital to University Hospital.

Lewis also had to be extricated from his vehicle. He was treated at the scene by EMS and then transported to University Hospital.

The Bardstown Fire Department, Nelson County Fire Department, Bardstown Police and Nelson County EMS responded to the crash scene.

According to KSP, toxicology results are pending, and the accident is currently being investigated by KSP Trooper/Reconstructionist Brandon Brooks.
