Obituary: Mary Helen Hughes, 70, Bloomfield
Mary Helen Hughes, 70, of Bloomfield, died Sunday, Aug. 20, 2017, at her residence. She was born March 22, 1947, in Spencer County to the late Roscoe and Edith Reynolds Sweazy. She was a former employee of Lexington Mechanical and Ivy Mechanical. She loved to garden and was of the Baptist faith.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Jimmy Hughes; four sisters; and two brothers.
She is survived by one daughter, Lanette (Harold) Hardin of Springfield; two sons, Barry (Mary Lyda) Hughes of Bloomfield and Leo (Stephanie) Hughes of Howardstown;
four sisters, Doris Tindle of Louisville, Vena Settles of Irvington, Martha (David) Riley of Bloomfield, and Pam (Pat) Anderson of Shepherdsville; one brother, Tim (Tracey) Cheek of Bloomfield; seven grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
The funeral is 11 a.m. Wednesday, Aug. 23, 2017, at the Houghlin Funeral Home in Bloomfield with Bro. Bruce Nichols officiating. Burial is in the Maple Grove Cemetery.
Visitation is 4-8 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 22, 2017, at the funeral home.
The Houghlin Funeral Home of Bloomfield is in charge of arrangements.
