KSP: Cox’s Creek woman died in Monday’s fatal Louisville Road crash

Tuesday, Aug. 22, 2017 — The Kentucky State Police say that the victim of Monday’s fatal crash on Louisville Road was Norma Lee Thompson, 74, of Cox’s Creek.

According to KSP, Thompson was traveling north on a section of US31E, Louisville Road, that was closed for construction. Kelly Jean Holsclaw, 37, and her infant daughter were traveling a section of the old Louisville Road in a 2006 Ford Explorer. Holsclaw’s vehicle struck Thompson’s vehicle in the side as Holsclaw’s vehicle entered the intersection of the two sections of roadway. Thompson died of injuries at the scene. Holsclaw and her daughter were taken to Flaget Memorial Hospital for examination and treatment of injuries. Both drivers were wearing seat belts, according to KSP.
