Obituary: Margie Lee Weakley Hood Woford, 82, Bardstown
Margie Lee Weakley Hood Woford, 82, of Bardstown, died Monday, Aug. 21, 2017, in Signature Healthcare at Colonial Rehab and Wellness after an illness. She was born March 24, 1935, in Washington County to the late Rufus and Mary Benham Weakley. She was a homemaker, a former employee of the -Springfield Sewing Factory and a member of the New Hope Baptist Church.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband, Ancil Hood; her second husband, James Purdom Woford; two daughters, Betty G. Hood and Nancy L. Hood; and one son, William Darrol Hood.
She is survived by five daughters, Mary Hood Heath, Elizabeth Ann O’Brien, and Sissy Lee (Keith) Woford, all of Bardstown, Frances Ann (Mark) Thornsberry of New Haven, and Pattie Ann (Brad) Taylor of Bloomfield; three sons, Charles David (Ann) Hood of Bardstown, Ancil Lee Hood of Springfield and Rufus (Christy) Hood of Bloomfield; one sister, Brenda Weakley of Louisville; two brothers, Jimmy Joe Weakley and James Darrell Weakley, both of Springfield; 23 grandchildren; and 33 great-grandchildren.
The funeral is 11 a.m. Friday, Aug. 25, 2017, at the Houghlin Funeral Home in Bloomfield with the Rev. Karl Lusk officiating with burial in the New Hope Baptist Church Cemetery in Washington County.
Visitation is 4-8 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 24, 2017, at the funeral home.
