Obituary: Betsey Ballard Bell, 101, Cox’s Creek

Betsey Ballard Bell, 101, of Cox’s Creek, died Thursday, Aug. 24, 2017, at Little Sisters of the Poor in Louisville. She was born Jan. 6, 1916, in Cox’s Creek to the late Joseph Clark and Ruth Jones Bell. She was a homemaker, caregiver and was a member of St. Michael Catholic Church in Fairfield.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her siblings, Joe Ed Bell, Billy Frank Bell, Ruth Wigginton, Martha Sorrell, Carolyn Hall, Ann Adams and Florrie Bell.

She is survived by her sister, Mary Sorrell of Cox’s Creek; and several nieces and nephews.

The Mass of Christian Burial is 10 a.m. Tuesday, Aug. 29, 2017, at St. Michael Catholic Church in Fairfield with the Rev. Johnny Johnson as celebrant.

Visitation is 4-8 p.m. Monday, Aug. 28, 2017, with a Monday evening prayer service at the Houghlin Funeral Home in Bloomfield.
