Obituary: Ernest Crawford “Rusty” “Bud” Hagan, 79, Bloomfield

ERNEST CRAWFORD “RUSTY” “BUD”  HAGAN

Ernest Crawford “Rusty” “Bud” Hagan, 79, of Bloomfield, died Saturday, Aug. 26, 2017, at his residence. He was born Jan. 23, 1938, in Bloomfield to the late Joe and Teenie Helen Waldridge Hagan. He was a member of the Bloomfield Baptist Church. He was a mechanic and bodyman most of his life. There wasn’t anything he couldn’t fix. When he was in better health, some of his hobbies were hunting and going on trail rides with his horses and wagon, or caring for the many different animals he had. He never met a stranger, called most everybody “babe,” and would do anything for anybody. He loved spending time with his children, grandchildren and all of his family more than anything. He will be missed by them all.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two sisters, Deborah Kay Hagan and Alice Long; one brother, Bobby Hagan; and one granddaughter, Karmyn Rose.

He is survived by his wife, Teri Tapp Hagan; two daughters, Leslie (Larry) Rose of Bloomfield and Terri (Billy) Smoot of Louisville; two sons, Tim (Christine) Hagan and Chris Hagan, both of Louisville; three sisters, Bonnie (Jerry) Stevens, Dollie (Bobby) Parks and Janet (Bobby Ray) Burgin, all of Bloomfield; one brother, Bill (Betty) Hagan of Bloomfield; 10 grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren.

The funeral is 11 a.m. Wednesday, Aug. 30, 2017, at the Houghlin Funeral Home in Bloomfield with the Rev. Leland Parks officiating. Burial is in the Maple Grove Cemetery.

Visitation is 3-8 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 29, 2017, at the funeral home.

The Houghlin Funeral Home of Bloomfield is in charge of arrangements.
