Obituary: Edward Fabian Rogers, 76, Bardstown

Edward Fabian Rogers, 76, of Bardstown, died peacefully Monday, Aug. 28, 2017, at his residence surrounded by his loving family. An expert builder, Fabian not only built beautiful homes, he built a beautiful family beginning with Shirley, his wife of 55 years.

EDWARD FABIAN ROGERS

He was born March 5, 1941, in Bardstown. He was the son of Earl and Dee Rogers who preceded him in death along with two sisters, Maxine Graham and Sarah Jean Carrico; and one brother, Carroll Rogers.

His warm smile, firm handshake and quick wit, he never met a stranger. With Fabian, a quick “hello” could become a lasting friendship.

He is survived by his wife, Shirley Rogers; two sons, Scott (Carla) Rogers of Bardstown and Perry Rogers of Louisville; two brothers, Merrill Rogers and Larry Rogers, both of Bardstown; two grandchildren, Lindsey and Collin Rogers; and many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

In keeping with his wishes, he has chosen cremation and there will be no visitation. A celebration of Fabian’s life will be held at a later date.

The Houghlin-Greenwell Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
