Obituary: Iona Hook, 73, Springfield
Iona Hook, 73, of Springfield, died Wednesday, Sept. 6, 2017, at Jewish Hospital in Louisville. She was born Dec. 16, 1943, in Glasgow to the late Charles and Ollie Sinclair Rooks. She was a homemaker and a Christian.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by one sister, Ima Jean Gogel.
She is survived by her husband of 55 years, James E. “Jim” Hook Sr. of Springfield; two daughters, Susan (Tom) Chambless of Bardstown and Karen Jones of Springfield; two sons, James E. “Jim” Hook, Jr. of Indianapolis and John Hook of Mount Washington; one brother, Alburn Rooks of Bardstown; five grandchildren; three stepgrandchildren; one great-grandchild; six stepgreat-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
The funeral is 2 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 10, 2017, at the Houghlin-Greenwell Funeral Home with burial in Holy Trinity Church Cemetery.
Visitation is 11 a.m. – 2 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.
The Houghlin-Greenwell Funeral Home, 1475 New Shepherdsville Road, is in charge of arrangements.
