Obituary: Ancil Chesser, 93, Willisburg

Ancil Chesser, 93, of Brush Grove Road, Willisburg, died at 8:15 a.m., Friday, Sept. 15, 2017, at his home after an illness. He was a native of Washington County. He was born on Sept. 11, 1924, to the late Charlie and Pearlie Lewis Chesser. He was a member of the Willisburg Church Of God Of Prophecy and a retired farmer.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Sarah Trent Chesser (Oct. 27, 2013); three sisters, Opha Chesser, Ethel Chesser and Pauline Chesser; seven brothers, Omer Chesser, Charles Vernon Chesser, Hobert Chesser, Delbert Chesser, Marvin Chesser, Cleo Chesser and Rollin Chesser; and one grandson, Brian Keith Chesser (Nov. 2, 2014).

Survivors include one daughter, Lisa Woford (David) of Bloomfield; five sons, Larry Chesser (Tammy), Keith Chesser (Connie) and Rodney Chesser all of Willisburg, Gary Chesser (Paula) of Winter Garden, Florida and Bradley Chesser (Mindy) of Bloomfield; two sisters, Loraine Griffin and Dula Monroe, both of Chaplin; 13 grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.

The funeral is 1 p.m. Monday, Sept. 18, 2017, at the Willisburg Church Of God Of Prophecy with the Rev. Mike Willingham, a former pastor, officiating. He will be assisted by Rev. Keith Creech and Rev. Earl Hazel. Burial is in the Brush Grove Cemetery at Willisburg.

Serving as honorary pallbearers will be Shannon Herring, Sara Lacey, Kaylee Sutton, Stephanie Smith and Rebecca Woford. Casket bearers will be Scott Chesser, Jeremy Chesser, Zachary Chesser, Justin Chesser, Tyler Chesser, Cory Chesser, Ryan Woford and Josh Kirsch.

Visitation is 4-8 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 17, 2017, and after 9 a.m. Monday at the Willisburg Church Of God Of Prophecy.

The Carey & Son Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
