Obituary: Lee Roy ‘Chickie’ Culver Sr., 78, Boston
Lee Roy “Chickie” Culver Sr., 78, of Boston, died Saturday, Sept. 16, 2017, at Flaget Memorial Hospital in Bardstown. He was born July 5, 1939, in the Nat Rogers Road area of Boston. He was the son of the late Jacob Gobel and Evelyn Mae Lafollette Culver. He was a member of St. Thomas Catholic Church. He was a retired farmer, which he had done all his life and enjoyed very much. He worked for Industrial Securities at Four Roses warehouses in Cox’s Creek.
He was preceded in death by three sisters, Velma Culver, Mary Culver and Mary Delores Culver Nalley; and one brother, Melvin Culver.
He is survived by his loving wife of 46 years, Frances Marie “Frankie” Donahue Culver of Boston; two daughters, Elizabeth Ann (Fumihiko) Mizutani of Bardstown and Pamela Joy (Cory) Stargel of Knoxville; two sons, Lee Roy (Edouard Marchand) Culver Jr. of Los Angeles and Jacob Dale Culver of Icetown; one sister, Joyce Marie (James) Norris of Balltown; one brother, James Donald (Martha Rose) Culver of Louisville; two grandchildren, Emi Mizutani and Aili Mizutani; and several nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
The Mass of Christian Burial is 1 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 20, 2017, at St. Thomas Catholic Church with the Rev. Jason Harris officiating. Burial is in the church cemetery.
Visitation is 3-8 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 19, 2017, and 9 a.m.-12:15 p.m. Wednesday at the William R. Rust Funeral Home in New Haven with a prayer service 4 p.m. Tuesday.
The William R. Rust Funeral Home, 167 North Main St., New Haven, is in charge of arrangements.
