Anna Carol Yates Potts, 69, Loretto

Anna Carol Yates Potts, 69, of Loretto, formerly of Louisville and New Haven, died Saturday, June 4, 2011, at Hardin Memorial Hospital in Elizabethtown.

She was a member of the Rolling Fork Baptist Church in Lyons Station. She retired after 42 years of service with General Electric in Louisville. She was born Aug. 12, 1941, to Charles Walter and Virgie Tidrow Potts.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a son, William Joseph “Joe” Potts; a daughter, Linda Ann  Potts; an four brothers, Phillip Yates, Richard Yates, Louis Yates and Paul Yates.

Survivors include her husband of 44 years, James Othell Potts, Sr., of Loretto; five sons, Chris Potts of Nelsonville, James Othell Potts Jr. and James E. “Buck” Potts, both of New Haven, Michael Potts of New Hope and Richard Potts of Lyons Station; a daughter, Brenda Humphrey of New Haven; two brothers, James Walter Yates and Dennis Yates, both of Louisville; two sisters, Betty Drake of LaGrange and Gladys Bachman of Louisville; 13 grandchildren, four great-grandchildren and several nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

The funeral is 11 a.m. Tuesday, June 7, 2011, at the Rolling Fork Baptist Church in Lyons Station. The Rev. Bruce Nichols will officiate. Burial will be in the Rolling Fork Baptist Church Cemetery.

Visitation is 3-8 p.m. Monday, June 6, 2011, and 9-10:30 a.m. Tuesday at the William R. Rust Funeral Home, 167 North Main St., in New Haven.

The William R. Rust Funeral Home in New Haven is in charge of arrangements.
