Tuesday, Sept. 19, 2017 — The Nelson County Board of Education took its show on the road Tuesday to the beautiful new auditorium at Thomas Nelson High School.

BOARD MEMBER DAMON JACKEY

After hearing presentations earlier this month from two state organizations seeking to assist the district with its search for a new superintendent, the board decided to go with the services of the Kentucky Association of School Administrators.

Board member Damon Jackey said he liked KASA’s approach that includes community outreach and discussions with stakeholders in order to determine the qualities the community wants to see in its next superintendent.

Board member Diane Berry noted that KASA’s representative said the organization will continue to work with the new superintendent regarding leadership skills and goals.

The board authorized Interim Superintendent Tom Brown to negotiate with KASA in regard to the number of services the board wishes to use as part of the superintendent search.

WORKING BUDGET. The board approved the working budget that covers the finances for the balance of the fiscal year.
