Obituary: Agnes Geraldine ‘Ms. Jeri’ Essex Walker Crick, 84

Agnes Geraldine “Ms. Jeri” Essex Walker Crick, 84, died Tuesday, Sept. 19, 2017. She was born Feb. 3, 1933, in Loretto. She was a lifetime member, volunteer, and bingo player of the American Legion and VFW post 1057, both in Shepherdsville.

She was preceded in death by her parents, James and Beatrice Essex; two husbands, William B. Walker of Bardstown and Warner O Crick; her companion Gary E Campbell; one daughter, Rita Christina Walker Hamilton (surviving grandson, Brett Hamilton, and two great-grandchildren Matthew and Chandler); four brothers, Charles (Fredeline) Essex, Gerald Essex, Robert (Geneva) Essex, and Leo Essex.

She is survived by one daughter, Monica A Coan (Mike); one son, Anthony B Walker (Barbara); three brothers, Johnny (Jane) Essex, Billy (Lois) Essex, and Tommy (Flo) Essex; one sister-in-law, Becky Essex; one granddaughter, Amber; grandsons, Bradley Owens and David Church; and a number of nieces and nephews.

The funeral is 11 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 23, 2017, at Mattingly Funeral Home, 195 Holy Cross Road, Loretto, with burial in St. Joseph Cemetery in Bardstown.

Visitation is 3-8 p.m. Friday, Sept. 22, 2017, at the funeral home.

Mattingly Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
