Obituary: Ann ‘Charlie’ Cecil, 95, Balltown

Ann “Charlie” Cecil, 95, of Balltown, died Tuesday, Sept. 26, 2017, at her home. She was a retired employee of Bardstown Manufacturing, a member of the American Legion Ladies Auxiliary, a lifetime member of St. Thomas Catholic Church, and a Kentucky Colonel.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Bertrand L. Cecil Sr.; four daughters, Betty Rae Greene, Martha Jean Cecil, Mary Flaget Cecil, and Mary Ruth Cecil; six sisters, Rose Jackson, Mae Rinaldi, Theresa Walters, Pearl Durbin, Mary Jane Puckett, and Sr. Mary Jane Hutchins; three brothers, Alfred Hutchins, Chester Hutchins and Paul Hutchins; and two grandsons, Chris Smith and Ferdy Linton.

She is survived by four daughters, Anna June Linton, Brenda Girdley (Billy), Rita Mae Smith, and Bootsie Culver (Raffo); three sons, B. Cecil (Judy), Tommy Dale Cecil (Melissa), and Leonard Cecil; three brothers, Leo Hutchins, Joe Hutchins, and Gilbert Hutchins (Stella); 23 grandchildren; 33 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.

The Funeral Mass is 10 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 30, 2017, at St. Thomas Catholic Church with burial in the church cemetery.

Visitation is 1-8 p.m. Friday, Sept. 29, 2017, at the Joseph L. Greenwell Funeral Home in New Haven.

The Joseph L. Greenwell Funeral Home in New Haven is in charge of arrangements.
