Obituary: Curtis Caudill, 66, Cox’s Creek

CURTIS CAUDILL

Curtis Caudill, 66, of Cox’s Creek, died Saturday, Sept. 30, 2017, at his residence surrounded by his loving family. He was born on July 30, 1951, in Whitesburg to the late David and Mary Fields Caudill. He was an employee of the University of Louisville Hospital. He was a member of Redeemer Fellowship Church, a veteran of the U.S. Army, a member of Masonic Lodge #6 and My Old Ky Home Eastern Star Lodge #436.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by one sister, Greta Williams; and two brothers, Joey Caudill and Roger Caudill.

He is survived by his wife of 47 years, Debby Smith Caudill; three daughters, Venus (Jeff) Downs of Bardstown, and Kimberly (Tom) Wethington and Tena Jo Hutchins, both of Cox’s Creek; two sisters, Anna Jo Cox of Mount Washington and Tena (Jim) Cunningham of Fern Creek; one brother, Gomer (Jerry) Caudill of Louisville; nine grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and multiple nieces and nephews.

The funeral is 11 a.m. Thursday, Oct. 5, 2017, at the Houghlin-Greenwell Funeral Home with Bro. Mike Lanway officiating. Burial is in Highland Memory Gardens.

Visitation is 2-8 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 4, 2017, and after 8:30 a.m. Thursday at the funeral home. An Order of the Eastern Star service is 7:30 p.m. Wednesday evening.

The family requests expressions of sympathy take the form of contributions to The American Cancer Society, Hospice of Nelson County or Paralyzed Veterans of America.

The Houghlin-Greenwell Funeral Home, 1475 New Shepherdsville Road, is in charge of arrangements.
