Obituary: Barbara Hahn Willett Spalding, 78, Bardstown

Barbara Hahn Willett Spalding, 78, of Bardstown, died Monday, Oct. 2, 2017, at University Hospital. She was born Nov. 3, 1938, in Bardstown. She was a retired nurse and a member of Bardstown Garden Club. She was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, where she was involved with the Altar Society and Bereavement Committee.

She was preceded in death by her husband, James Patrick Willett Jr.; two daughters, Jolie Danielle Willett, and Cathy Spalding; and one son, David Spalding.

She is survived by five sons, Jimmy (Ruth) Willett, Mike (Patty) Willett and Gabe (Tricia) Willett, all of Bardstown, Jeff (Meredith) Willett of Lexington, and Kyle (Lynn) Willett of Fisherville; one sister-in-law, Barbara Willett of Bardstown; 10 grandchildren, Haley Willett, J.P. Willett, Caroline Willett, Whitney Willett, Simon Willett, Laura Laine Barnhill, Kasey Willett, Jacob Willett, Tori Whaley, and Brett Whaley; and one great-granddaughter, Braelyn Whaley.

The Memorial Mass is 11 a.m. Thursday, Oct. 5, 2017, at the Basilica of St. Joseph Proto-Cathedral with burial the church cemetery with the Rev. Joseph Batcheldor officiating.

Visitation is 4-8 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 4, 2017, at Barlow Funeral Home, with a prayer service at 7 p.m.

Memorial contributions may go to St. Joseph Catholic Church.
